Vladimir Tikhtman (he/him)
Clinical Intern, University of the Cumberlands
Hello and welcome! My name is Vladimir Tikhtman, and I am here to guide and support you on your journey to self-discovery and healing.
I am currently completing my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of the Cumberlands. I have a rich blend of educational expertise: a Master's in Health Services Administration from the University of Michigan, a Graduate Certificate in Counselor Education from North Carolina State University, and a foundational degree in Psychology from DePaul University.
My career, spanning over two decades, has been characterized by leadership in the healthcare field, focusing on leadership, enhancing team dynamics, and organizational effectiveness. This experience, coupled with my academic pursuits, has shaped my approach to counseling. My clinical orientation is deeply influenced by existentialism, feminism, and a commitment to LGBTQ advocacy. I am passionate about exploring the human condition, embracing the complexities of life transitions, identity formation, self-acceptance, and am particularly drawn to techniques that stem from cognitive behavioral and existential theoretical paradigms.
In my practice, I aim to create a warm, empathetic environment, where clients feel supported on their journey towards self-discovery and healing no matter who they are or what life challenges they present with. As someone who immigrated to the U.S. in childhood and has since cultivated a rich, multicultural family life in Cary, NC, I understand the nuances of diverse life experiences. I welcome you to join me in this therapeutic journey, where together, we can strive towards personal growth and fulfillment.
