Arden (she, her, hers) is an Afro-Latina Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate and an Outpatient Psychotherapist at Three Oaks Behavioral Health & Wellness in North Durham. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Loyola University Maryland and her Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at North Carolina State University. Arden prioritizes client safety and strives to create a safe space for marginalized groups of people. Arden strives to create and maintain a space that is safe for individuals of all races, sexualities, and genders.

While working with kiddos, Arden supports children in identifying, exploring, and expressing their emotions through modalities of play and art. She strives to create a safe space where the therapeutic relationship can grow and the child can embark on a journey of emotional exploration in age appropriate ways.

While working with adolescents, Arden encourages her clients to use their creativity through vision boards, art, and games. Arden prioritizes her client’s emotional safety as they embark on a journey of self-expression, identity development, value work, and healing. Arden has experience working with teens who are recovering from Disordered Eating and incorporates the Health at Every Size Approach (HAES) with her clients.

While working with adults, Arden roots her modalities in Person-Centered Approaches and Acceptance Commitment Therapy. By combining the two approaches, Arden tailors the sessions around the client’s individual wants and needs while also assisting her clients in identifying and exploring their values. Arden has experience working with adult women who are recovering from Disordered Eating and incorporates the Health at Every Size Approach (HAES) with her clients.

In her free time, Arden enjoys reading at coffee shops, taking her dog to the park, and listening to her favorite salseros.
