Ben is an Outpatient Psychotherapist at Three Oaks Behavioral Health & Wellness on the Telehealth Team. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Colorado, Denver. Ben earned his Masters of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and is a licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate.
Ben’s style is a relaxed and judgment free approach with meeting you where you are now. His approach to therapy includes coming alongside you as you explore your thoughts, feelings, and actions in your life. Ben’s goal is to facilitate a successful therapeutic experience based on a trusting partnership between client and therapist.
He enjoys working with a diverse client group and a variety of presenting concerns. He welcomes all sexual and gender identities making LGBTQ+ affirming space a priority. Ben’s client base includes teenagers, young adults, adults at various life stages and senior citizens. He has seen a number of presenting concerns including depression, grief and loss, anxiety, work and personal stress, life satisfaction, and transitional changes.
Ben has an extensive work history in public safety and emergency services. He has a strong background in crisis, trauma, and critical incident stress management. Ben’s areas of clinical training include Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Cognitive Processing Therapy. He has advanced training in crisis as well as suicide prevention, intervention, and postvention. He has advanced training in coping and grief & loss.
When Ben is not working, he enjoys spending time with his Greater Swiss Mountain Dogs. He spends time outside & enjoys activities involving boats and water.
