Courtney Stewart (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (#A18954) and National Certified Counselor, who earned a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from North Carolina Central University. Courtney obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Family and Consumer Sciences Education from East Carolina University. There, she studied the relationship between individuals, families, and the environment in which they live. After graduating for East Carolina University, Courtney taught classes in parenting and child development for several years.

Courtney believes there are times in our lives when we are often thrown challenges, some more heavy to carry than others. In these moments, having the right support can make all the difference. Courtney’s aim is to take the time to understand your unique story and stand alongside in your journey in life. She is committed to developing a collaborative relationship with you in a judgment-free space where you feel seen, supported, and safe. Her style is warm, laid-back, and humorous at times.

Courtney is passionate about supporting individuals though various transitional moments. Courtney enjoys working with individuals during pregnancy, postpartum, and parenting periods. She is also interested in working with clients 13+ on the following topics: stress, anxiety, identity, relationships, and life transitions. Courtney utilizes an eclectic therapeutic approach and pulls from evidenced-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution-Focused Therapy. Additionally, Courtney incorporates relational-cultural therapy and feminist therapy in her work as well.
