Dylan Hines (he/they), MEd, LCMHCA

Outpatient Psychotherapist in North Durham

Works with ages 14-50

Hi there! My name is Dylan (He&They), a mental health counselor at Three Oaks Behavioral Health & Wellness in the North Durham office. I earned my M.Ed. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from North Carolina State University.

I am committed to providing a safe and affirming counseling space where you can be your most authentic self without shame. I approach my counseling from a person-centered and feminist point-of-view, which centers your values and celebrates all aspects of your identity. I also employ narrative and strengths-based approaches, which seek to empower and build self-compassion, and hopefully find a little humor along the way. I invite each person I work with to show up exactly as they are and to act as collaborators in their counseling experiences.

I am deeply passionate about supporting members of the queer (LGBTQ+) community through mental health care and community education. I also enjoy working alongside adolescents and adults of all ages as they explore identities and values; manage anxiety, depression, and daily stressors; process trauma; navigate life transitions; and work towards their goal of creating a more fulfilling life.

Outside of counseling, I love listening to music (e.g., Florence + the Machine, Yola, Carly Rae Jepsen among so many others), reading poetry, playing video games, and watching silly reality TV (Housewives, Drag Race).

If you have any questions about my availability, how we might work together, or anything else, please feel free to reach out. I look forward to connecting with you and working with you soon!
