Mary Catherine (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (15529), a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist Associate (26180), and an Outpatient Psychotherapist at Three Oaks Behavioral Health & Wellness in Downtown Raleigh. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from North Carolina State University and her Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from North Carolina Central University.

Mary Catherine’s approach to therapy is person-centered and focuses on the collaborative therapeutic relationship. She believes that unconditional positive regard and acceptance create the base for a successful partnership, and she works to create a safe and calming environment for each client. Mary Catherine’s therapeutic style pulls from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI). She incorporates traditional talk therapy and skills building into her sessions, and believes each client is the expert in their own treatment. Mary Catherine enjoys working with adolescents and adults who may be struggling with issues related to anxiety, depression or other mood disorders, eating disorders, life transitions, stress, addiction and self-esteem. Mary Catherine is LGBTQIA+ affirming & offers a non-judgmental space for everyone.

In her free time, Mary Catherine can be found reading, traveling, baking and taking long walks.
