For many, these last few years have been exceptionally difficult, and in one way or another most of us are struggling right now. I (they/them) believe that developing a deeper understanding of what you’re going through and how you’re coping can help you get to a better mental place. If we decide to work together, I’ll listen carefully, treat you as the expert of your own experience, and endeavor to help you understand and overcome the things that are hurting you or holding you back.
I’m queer, nonbinary, and joyfully committed to anti-racism, anti-ableism, kink positivity, and health at every size. I’m also a licensed clinical social worker associate (P019016) with an MSW from UNC Chapel Hill and a PhD in English from Duke. I work primarily with queer and trans adults, cis women, polycules, and couples, and I’ve been seeing clients since September of 2022. I use psychodynamic psychotherapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and my approach is consistently informed by queer, crip, and anti-racist theory.
Outside of work I enjoy hiking, reading, and meditation. I live with one cat (Oscar) and one small dog (Spike) who are both (usually) excellent company.
