Hi! I’m Traci! It can be so hard to be a human being and I think we often feel as if we are missing something (did everyone get a manual but me??). Are you feeling as if you are "doing it wrong" or feeling “other” from everyone else? My approach to therapy is about YOU! Exploring what makes you *you* and why we move about the world in the ways we do. I strive to tailor therapy to address your specific needs and work together on goals you set to bring about the changes you wish to see in your own life. I see the therapy space as a sacred, safe place where you can bring your suffering. To have a peaceful place to be authentically you and let it all hang out with no judgement. My therapeutic approach could be summed up by the Ram Dass quote “we’re all just walking each other home.” To me, it invites curiosity, caring, and empathy to be shared amongst people…and we are all just figuring out how to “life” as we go along. That we are all dynamic works of art in progress.
Currently, I also work in a therapy/recovery farm setting with individuals who are diagnosed with serious and persistent mental illness such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder, as well as other debilitating mental health conditions. In addition to individual and group work, I also work closely with their families and treatment teams to provide holistic care.
I have experience working with grief (including prolonged grief), chronic illness, disability, relationship conflict, trauma, and generational patterns. I also provide alternative therapy interventions such as cooking therapy, food and mood counseling, and emotional resiliency skills.
I will use a variety of modalities in our work together. I appreciate the openness and tailored framework that Motivational Interviewing (MI), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Rogerian techniques and theory provide.
In my time away from the therapeutic space, I enjoy working in fiber arts- dyeing, sewing, and embroidery. I love spending time with my family, cat, and house spiders. I also enjoy going for walks, exploring, and marveling at the amazing biodiversity this world has to offer. You can often find me cooking, dancing, or reading too.
Thank you for taking your time and energy reading my therapy profile and I look forward to working together if we think we might be a good fit!
all parts of you are welcome here
