Adeeba Issa (she/her), LCMHCS

Director of Clinical Supervision

Works with ages 18+

Adeeba (she/her/hers) is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (11714) and an Outpatient Psychotherapist at Three Oaks Behavioral Health & Wellness in Knightdale. She is the Director of Clinical Supervision, and also offers supervision to provisionally licensed counselors as Clinical Supervisor. She received both her Bachelor of Science in Clinical Psychology and her Master of Science in Education with a specialty in Mental Health Counseling from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA. She has nearly ten years of experience working with adults and adolescents across a variety of settings, including outpatient, community agency, acute inpatient, and residential treatment.

Adeeba has a passion for working in maternal mental health, especially with women struggling with parenting, infertility, and postpartum concerns. Her desire to serve in the field of perinatal and maternal wellness evolved from her personal difficulties with fertility and postpartum anxiety. Through her own journey, she realized the benefit and need of helping others along their journey of parenthood. Adeeba also specializes in life transitions and looks forward to supporting individuals during the most difficult stages of life. While many people can transition gracefully, others may feel like their world has been turned upside down resulting in stages of emotional discomfort, mourning, or fear, leaving them feeling overwhelmed, anxious, and even depressed. She enjoys working specifically with:

-young adults (18-26 years of age) as they enter into new roles and responsibilities: beginning higher education studies, entering the workforce, moving away from home, starting a family, accepting legal responsibility for themselves, and/or supporting themselves financially.

-older adults (65+ years of age) as it may become more difficult for them to face the transition to retirement, deal with new frailty or medical conditions, experience feelings of isolation and loneliness, as well as find enjoyable, meaningful activities in the presence of memory loss and/or limited mobility.

Adeeba‘s therapeutic orientation is primarily rooted in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. She believes in an active therapeutic relationship between all those involved and empowers the client to regularly practice mindfulness and emotional regulation in order to achieve their full potential.

In her free time, Adeeba enjoys traveling, trying new foods, cooking, and spending time with her two daughters and husband! Adeeba is currently accepting new clients and looks forward to supporting you in your journey of life!
