Emily Myers (she/her), MSW, LCSW
Site Supervisor of Midtown; Outpatient Psychotherapist in Midtown
Works with ages 12-50
My name is Emily Brooke (she/her) and I am an Outpatient Psychotherapist at Three Oaks Behavioral Health & Wellness. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I received my Masters of Social Work at Walden University and my Bachelors of Arts degree at UNC Chapel Hill in Sociology, Psychology, and Social and Economic Justice.
My therapeutic orientation is within the research supported modalities of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Somatic Experiencing, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I use each of these modalities to guide the therapeutic process.
I am passionate about working with adults who are experiencing a variety of emotional concerns related to depression, anxiety, trauma, body image related issues, and bipolar disorder. I often work with individuals who struggle with life changes and identity concerns particularly within the LGBTQ+ community. I have extensive experience in working with individuals who struggle with disordered eating, diagnosed eating disorders, and body image concerns.
My work focuses around building strong therapeutic relationships by meeting my clients where they are and working to create a safe space for them to be authentically themselves. Many people do not have the ability to regularly see an in-person therapist. I work to create a safe space online for clients to share their thoughts and feelings while still feeling safe and understood. I truly believe in the connection between our physical and emotional state as humans. A significant part of the work I do is helping individuals understand how these two aspects of our being are interconnected and in turn, learn how to improve this connection.
Welcome to Three Oaks!
