Gloria (she/her/hers) is a bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker and an Outpatient Psychotherapist at Three Oaks Behavioral Health & Wellness. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from Harding University and received her Master of Social Work at University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Gloria learned to speak Spanish while living in Costa Rica in 2000 and recently returned to Costa Rica with the Peace Corps where she served as a Youth Development volunteer from 2016 to 2018.
Gloria believes the therapeutic process starts with a safe space that allows you to come as you are, all parts welcome. She is devoted to working with children and families to support the development of positive and healthy relationships, as well as a safe environment conducive to growth and nourishment. She also recognizes the need to embrace and love your “inner child” and works with individuals who may have difficulty processing their own childhood experiences.
Gloria informs her practice with Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Constructed Awareness (CA). She has experience with trauma, mood disorders, attachment disorders, adjustment disorders, and personality disorders working both individually with clients and in group settings, as well as in partnership with the family unit. Additionally, Gloria has five years prior experience in the community mental health system supporting children and parents in overcoming behavioral hardships, communication difficulties, attachment issues, and family dynamics.
