Sarah Bailes (she/her), MSW, LCSW
Outpatient Psychotherapist in South Durham
Works with ages 13+
Sarah (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Outpatient Psychotherapist at Three Oaks Behavioral Health & Wellness. She received her undergraduate degree in Social Work from Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN and her Master of Social Work degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Sarah works from a strengths-based, person-centered approach. She recognizes the importance of the therapeutic alliance and the impact that the therapist-client relationship has on treatment outcomes, so she strives to create an non-judgmental space that encourages exploration of emotions with curiosity and compassion. Sarah is passionate about seeing healing and freedom in the lives of her clients—she is not the one doing the healing work; instead, she empowers her clients with the tools that they need to heal themselves. She is deeply committed to sitting in the deepest depths with someone for as long as it takes them to wrestle towards their freedom and wholeness.
Sarah is passionate about working with teens and young adults to find freedom from eating disorders, religious trauma, anxiety, depression, and relationship issues. She utilizes a variety of evidence-based treatment models including: Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy. She is LGBTQIA+ friendly, committed to anti-racist work, and operates from a Health at Every Size approach.
When Sarah is not working, she enjoys spending time with her dog (affectionately named Winnie after Winnie the Pooh), reading, and practicing film photography.
